Air quality
Research and development on air quality focuses on the following topics:
- Air quality models.
- Operational air quality forecasts.
- Data assimilation approaches for surface and satellite air quality measurements.
The main tool for this work is the Dutch regional air quality model
Lotos-Euros.
Lotos-Euros is currently developed by the Dutch institutes
TNO,
RIVM,
PBL and
KNMI.
The Chemistry and Climate division contibutes to two major public services:
Persons involved:
- Martijn de Ruyter de Wildt
- Henk Eskes
- Peter van Velthoven
- Contributors from other divisions: Joop Konings, Rob Deibert, Robert van Versendaal, Gertie Geertsema
